STOP: Texing While Walking. er titlen på den nyeste udstilling af Anders Reventlov. Udstillingen tager udgangspunkt i advarselsskilte fra Japan, der alle advarer om hvor farligt det kan være at sms’e, skrive mails eller andre former for beskeder, imens man bevæger sig rundt i det offentlige rum.

Udstillingen viser et maleri, der mimer japansk populærkultur i form af forsiden af en japansk porno manga tegneserie. Maleriet ses i samspil med 4 blyantstegninger, der alle har motiver af mennesker som kommer til skade i forbindelse med, at de tekster på deres telefoner, samt et væld af sort/hvide tegninger.

I baglokalet viser Reventlov et uddrag af videoklip fra historiske arkiver, så den besøgende får chancen for at forholde sig til, eller blive mindet om, historien og menneskets grusomhed.

Med STOP: Texting While Walking. søger Anders Reventlov et argument for, om mennesket fortjener sin plads i verden. Han fordriver selv sin tid med tegninger, i doodle karakter, kunstnerens egen virkelighedsflugt, imens at han venter på, at den totale forløsning bliver en realitet.

Anders Reventlov (f. 1984) er uddannet fra Det Jyske Kunstakademi i 2009. Han arbejder både med store vægmalerier i det offentlige rum samt mindre formater som tegning og serigrafi. Han er især optaget af kunstværket som en evig proces og omdrejningspunktet i Reventlovs værker er ofte forholdet mellem skrift og billede. Anders Reventlov har gennem årene udstillet på gallerier og museer i Danmark såvel som i udlandet, heriblandt Tyskland og Brasilien. Desuden repræsenterede Reventlov Danmark på udstillingen Graffiti Fine Art på MUBE museet, Sao Paolo i 2010.

STOP: Texting while walking. is the title of the newest exhibition by Anders Reventlov. The exhibitions title is borrowed from Japanese warning posters, that are supposed to make people aware of the dangers involved with texting while moving about in public space.

The exhibition consists of a painting that mimes the frontpage of a typical Japanese porn manga comic book. The painting is shown next to an abundance of black/white drawings, as well as 4 pencil drawings all showing people getting hurt while texting on their phones. In the backroom Reventlov shows a selection of video clips, depicting excerpts from historical archives, contemplating the horrors of humanity.

With STOP: Texting while walking. Reventlov is seeking an argument for the continuation of human existence. The artist himself is using his precious time to escape reality by doodling as much as possible, while waiting for final redemption.

Anders Reventlov (born 1984) is educated from the Jutland Academy of Fine Art, 2009. Anders Reventlov works in various mediums, such as painting, drawing, graphics, sculpture and installation, and has exhibited on galleries and museums in Denmark and abroad.

Exhibition news

It is a busy time right now and it is now possible to see my works four different locations 3 in Denmark and one in Germany

So if you are in Jutland Denmark pas by Hygum Museum of Art, Denmark as part of the exhibition ÅND (Spirit) Hygum Kunstmuseum. After that you could pass by the City of Vejle to see the international group exhibition at Vejle Kunsthal. And if in Copenhagen you should go and see my latest solo show at the Artist run exhibition space C4projects

And if you are in Germany go By Herne ,and visit the Unlock Book fair. here im showing works as part of the BWNC group silk screen colaboration and as part of the exhibition at the unlock book fair that also display works following Artists:

Unlock: Visual Dissidence brings to Herne (Germany) a selection of publishers and artists whose work explores the creative area where graffiti, street art and contemporary art overlap.

The event starts with a two-day book fair featuring a selected line-up of independent European publishers working with progressive forms of uncommissioned public art.

Each exhibiting publisher invites one artist from their roster to take part in an exhibition that will remain on display for three weeks after the fair. The exhibition will explore artistic approaches that push the conventions of uncomissioned public art and take it into unusual territories.

In addition to the publishers’ stalls, the book fair weekend features book launches and a series of talks enquiring into issues crucial to the evolution of graffiti and street art. How should the exhibiting of street artworks be approached? In which directions can these practices be expected to evolve in the near future?

The fair, exhibition and accompanying events will take place at Alter Wartesaal – the former waiting room of Deutsche Bahn’s station in Herne.

Exhibition at Dimlight Hiroshima Japan 7/7-17/7 2018

I went to Japan the 26th of June, the reason why i went here, was simply because i have never been here before. It has been a good an really relaxed experience, no troubles, absolutely nothing went wrong, well at least nothing that wasnt out of my hands.

I was invited to make a solo exhibition in the Dimlight Gallery in Hiroshima. It is run by the local artist Suiko. My time in Japan i have been drawing a lot and that was what i ended up with showing. Never before have made such a unplanned exhibition. It was a good and calm experience and on arrival, Suiko had some ideas about 3 walls i could paint at Dimlight aswell. And so i did. The exhibition consists of drawings and silkscreen printing.Dimlight is a place that focuses on graffiti writers or artists with graffiti background, works that focus on letters ideas of letters and works out of the graffiti culture context. I made a series of works, that is empressions of Japan. The series of silkscreen prints is a edition called "A" "a" i brouhgt from home and that i have worked with here. Plus i showed 4 silkscreen prints and a photo manipulation plus 3 drawings on walls. and 3 video documentations of live painting.

During the openings at Dimlight it is costume that the exhibiting artist work on a new piece and so i did.

I am happy with the works and the exhibtion it was fun and relaxed to do and i have been treated fantastic by the hardworking proffesional staff of Dimlight. The show is on untill the 15/7 2018. Drop by and check it out. Thanks to Suiko and the Dimlight team.
