Spray of the day. Red Blue and White

Ultimate frustration! found in the forrest intoxicated by a lot of alcohol. all of a sudden made the colors blue red and white pop up in my head, and there they are very present. Raisning all sorts of questions! Need to get some answers need to start, figuring everything out! What to do with these colors! Today i made a silver and black drawing on a wall! In the colors that i love so very much! It felt good, but it didn't get me closer to any answers! 

But i am happy!

Friday the 18th the newest exhibition in Format Artspace opened. It features all the artist represented by the galleri. Each artist participated with one work. All works is on paper. As a special thing, all works no matter size, and or material cost the same. And if you buy something you can take it with you right away! Thanks to everybody who  showed up.

Format har inviteret galleriets kunstnere til at deltage i en gruppeudstilling, hvor formatet er frit, men prisen er fast.

34 danske kunstnere og kunstnergrupper, der har papiret som fællesnævner, har hver lavet et nyt værk til gruppeudstillingen “One Size Fits All”. Formatet varierer, men prisen er den samme – alle værker kan erhverves for 1400 kr

.Udstillingen er blevet til udfra et ønske om at understrege galleriets målsætning: at præsentere værker af høj kunstnerisk kvalitet, men som er mulige at erhverve sig uden at skulle leve af havregrød flere måneder efter.

Så drømmer man fx. om en lille tegning af Morten Schelde, et tryk af Carl Krull, en lille pap-kvadrat af Camilla Thorup, en tørret og presset blomst af Jesper Aabille eller en collage af Sidse Carstens, så er der med “One Size Fits All” rig mulighed for at både se og købe. Værkerne kan købes og tages med med det samme, så udstillingen vil I løbet af perioden ændre form og ophængning.

I am part of this show at Neun Görlitz curated by Jens Besser

Featuring Artists who have been involved in the Lack Streiche kleber, Urban-Art festival in Dresden. Now the Urban art festival travels to spread the ideas and the documentation about the project. I am extremely happy to be a part of it. Special thank you goes out to the curator and organizer Jens Besser for inviting me in the first place. This show is on until the 2. of december 2016

Lost youth and old farts

It all continues.The art, Drawing, the graffiti all that I have been using all spare time and all free time on in around 25 years. Last night i painted a wall in a small suburb. Two teenagers was hanging out, in a dark corner. where there was no lights. A boy and a girl. The boy talked constantly to the girl in a slow monotone hash smoked voice! It was so annoying I felt like going there tell him to shut up! At some point he came creeping out the darkness with red sprained eyes and asked me if i worked there? I said no. He asked how much i got paid for painting? A question that persons of all ages everywhere i have painted always seem to be interested in. I said nothing. He looked at me, with a suspicious look. Maybe thinking why an adult person would do anything like painting a wall in the night in his spare time for absolutely no reason than just the one reason: I want to do it. And for the fun and joy of it. That was my response: I just do this for fun. That seemed to be to much for him to grasp. And he turned around and crawled back to his dark corner, to his monotone preaching. That i will never know what was about. They finally left and i could relax and paint undisturbed. 

Later this week i met with my friend Solkongens Nabo (The king of the Suns neighbour) We went around looking at abandoned spaces in searching for some urban wasteland where we could have some fun painting. For me a familiar way of spending a afternoon for, Solkongens Nabo, not so familiar, at least not in the context of artistic expression. We found a place where we thought that to old farts could paint undisturbed. We went home packed our stuff, went back and started to work in complete darkness and silence. Really funny to stand a place and create something. Something that you can't see and something that will never bee seen by anybody in real life. Created a place of the grid that does not exists anywhere. It was really nice. And Solkongens Nabo was really happy, it was the first time he had done something like that. And he felt that now his artistic platform had developed. On our way back i asked him if he could believe that i have been doing this for about 20 years. His reply was yes totally!

Memories 2016

Sorry for the lack of updates a lot of things is going on and i haven't made a priority of making updates here on my blog. I really appreciate all the visitors and i truly hope you will continue to pass by my blog now exsitising for around 8 years. 

Last update was written in Rio De janeiro. Reflecting on the situation there. How it felt being there. Now back home in the safe havens of Scandinavia sitting and looking through images from the travel. I am dreaming my self back and want to share some holiday photos of what i consider giving me the most quality of life namely painting on the streets without being bothered by police or anything else. In Brasil it is widely accepted to paint where ever you want to. I have never experienced any trouble. Walking around looking for spots to paint is magic and feels as truly freedom of expression. 

It was a good trip seeing old friends again painting and having fun.

30 Degrees in the sun. Walking around with my Friend Beam, to paint and find spots. 

I found this surface so nice and beautiful. Should probably just have left like if it is above but i really wanted to paint it. and so i did. While painting a man started to ask if we wanted to paint his truck. That way our work could travel all around Rio De Janerio. He like the paintings in the streets and wanted to help us to show our work. We agreed, but all of a sudden he had to leave because his lunch break was over. Next time. 

This wall is the back side of a wall totally covered in graffiti paintings. I asked the owner of the factory if i could paint on the building, but he responded i could only paint in the wall outside surrounding the factory. It wasn't really attractive to paint on a wall already painted but i started to walk along side the wall. to find a spot i could paint over. Then i saw a hole in the wall and climbed through. To find out that on the other side, the wall was completely clean! Considering the owner didn't say only one side of the wall could be painted i made a quick decision of painting the clean side. Somebody have to be the first.

Projeto Morrinho in Santa Teresa. His hobby is drinking coffee and making food. So i took that in my thoughts while painting his house. He gave me really good home made soup. And good coffee while i painted. Such a nice time. 

Brasil Rio De Janeiro 2016

A small update from Rio De Janeiro the Marvellous city. I have not been here in 5 years  and it is with great pleasure i am coming back. I went here with a lot of expectations on how much it have changed and if everything truly is so bad and chaotic as we now here from time to time in the news in the west. Last time i was here, i remember seeing a live televison broadcast showing a police helicopter circling around over Rio De Janeiro, it had been hit by  a smaller missile launched from one of the favelas, and was now searching for place to crash without doing the most damage. It crashed and 4 police officers tragically died. That month there was reported 35 murders on police officers in Rio De Janeiro. 5 years ago that event was not published outside of Brasil. Nobody heard about really. 

Now 5 years later i come here and as then and now people tell me it so dangerous and more violent than EVER here, i hear the same phrases  as then: dont take the bus, dont go there, dont go out at night, dont do that dont do this you will get killed. And yes it can be dangerous here. Maybe especially because there are so much fear.  Only one month to the olympics and every body especially the news are talking constantly about how dangerous it is and will be, going here. 

Now I am here, and it feels pretty much the same. except the Brasilian people are talking about a worse quality of life, all prices are going up on everything the salaries are going down. The state of Rio is bankrupt and have no Money to pay the police or firefighters. 

Chaos and fear! What will happen after the olympics? No one knows. 

When walking around taking the bus, painting. I feel a relaxing vibe around the city, like a breeze of calm have set in over Rio De Janeiro. Everything seems relaxed in a way. Like a waiting position. But still I feel that everything is pretty much the same, here as it was 5 years ago. Maybe i am wrong.One thing is for sure i feel as safe/unsafe here as usual, the life continues people are still getting robbed, people are still going to the beach people are still getting killed, the bus drivers still drives like madmen. And people are still talking about how bad everything is. I dont know what to make of it. I am still enjoying the freedom to paint where ever you want to. And the positive vibe you meet everywhere. 

 I am looking forward to follow the development.

Greetings gang, here we are back again. In the midst of some upheaval and expansion, we bring you part one of our stellar talk with Anders Reventlov. He is the perfect guest for times of change, and he’s the first one ever we’ve met through the show itself. He is an unusually engaged fellow (and we meet a lot of engaged people) and since meeting him we’ve found he is a talented artist as well. He has a really interesting story, he works harder than just about anybody we’ve met, and he seems to retain an unflaggingly positive attitude throughout. He’s a teacher, he runs and independent art space, he’s a father, an artist, he does just about everything. But we’ll let him tell you the rest of the story, such as growing up painting Warhammer figures, getting harassed in the conservative graffiti world and being traumatized by art teachers. Ando also has a little announcement about the show. Enjoy!

New Wall In Denmark

With the help of 48 Fresh Kids i made a new permanent work 

at a private school in Denmark. 

Based on drawings and ideas made by the kids, I worked it all together to one big drawing. By using the paper drawings, directly om the wall i simply continued 

what the kids from paper to wall. 

After the whole work was considered done, all kids could get a piece of the drawing in the wall. Now  with a mixture, of my drawing and their original motive. Below some pictures from the process and the finished wall. The wall was made to mark the 150 th annaversery of N.Koch school.  A huge thanks goes to all the kids involved and Bettina Hee Rømer.
